Maroon activity in 17th-century Mexico, enslavers getting uhhh "broken to pieces?"
"In [1606] the viceroy wrote to Bahena with dismay: 'I understand that the number of [Black] maroons who are gathered in revolt within the jurisdiction of Vieja and Nueva Veracruz, Río Blanco, and Punta de Antón Lizardo is very large and their liberty and daring much greater, and that they have begun to enter the town of Tlalixcoyán to rob and sack the homes and seize [Black] domestics, taking them from the homes of their [enslavers] and threatening the Spaniards, setting fire to their houses.' "
"In one attack of 1609 'the [Black] maroons robbed and destroyed some wagons which carry from Veracruz to Mexico City the clothing that comes from Spain, routing the carriers and breaking to pieces the Spaniard who led them."

pro-choice and the actual meaning of the phrase
i think it’s bad faith to boil down pro-choice to entirely being about abortion.
people who are pro-choice are pro-abortion, but it’s also more complex than that. everyone should have access to safe, affordable abortions if they need it.
pro-choice is also about bodily autonomy in general. it’s about having a choice what you do with your body. it’s about having access to reproductive care - not just what happens after you get pregnant.
