hi everyone! i'm sol, a 3D environment artist and general art enthusiast. i love modeling rocks, environmental storytelling, and cool colors. i've previously worked on the waylanders, cover me in leaves, and guacuco (my first personal game!)
today was my first payday in a year :) it's also the first summer in two years that i've felt somewhat stable and hopeful for the future. it finally feels like summer again! i almost cried a little about it. i really hope this keeps up! also if you read this you will have a wonderful weekend, guaranteed!!!!
work is kicking my ass, but today i had the strength to sit down and style my HTML form project :) it's a required exercise for my web design cert, where I need to build this from scratch without any guidance!!
....i still had to go back to the forms lesson because i fumbled the css, but i think i got it better this time!
I've decided to get back into game dev after ~2.5 years by taking a straight "ink to paper"/sketchbook approach to the Famicase (https://famicase.com/) gallery.
If nothing else comes of Indiepocalypse, I've at least freed myself in how I approach games.
Took some time to do, but my @ArtStationHQ@twitter.com page is finally up to date ✨

i know i'm like 15 years late to the party, but
game's going to be unlit, so i gotta paint shadows as well! i need to update the punching bag model actually it looks squeaky clean next to the shitty chair and rubbish bin haha
For reference, this is the style the ring will be in. Comic-y, hand painted , low-poly models. :3c They're a fun challenge to tackle, since you really have to balance the amount of detail to make it lived in/scrappy, but without making it noisy, or making it so subtly it won't show up further away. #b3d #art #3d
super minor, but! im back on track with 3d thanks to the silly models i did lately, and i managed to set up a basic fighting ring. all the strings/poles/turnbuckles are done through symmetry and arrays!! for the past four years i did most of these things by hand so it was a bit of a challenge to understand how to do it by just parameters, but it's cool!!! i got i tnow!!!! less work!!! woo!! #b3d #3d #art
A year-long search for a lost video game pioneer comes to a happy conclusion today.
It is our honor and privilege to introduce you to Van Mai, the innovator who brought female representation to home video games 40 years ago.
