Absolute banger version of Boys Boys Boys at the new year festival outside.

I've added full transcripts for all past episodes of the Artists and Hackers podcast.

I researched best practices and tried to implement it but I'm open to hearing feedback.

Queer BIPOC interested in voice acting, there's an indie project looking for Black, Afro-Latinx, and NB Latinx voices. Paid gig. No previous experience necessary. USB/ XLR mic required for major roles, extras can get away with headsets or phones

I'm trying to come up with a title for a game I haven't written yet. I was trying to find the right alliteration and also subtly communicate what it's an open source homage to. Actually if anybody can get it that'd tell me...something. These are either too obscure or too on the nose. Probably on the nose.
Here are the ideas

* gratisnes
* rivalnewt/openrivalnewt
* neminewt
* newtius

I don't know I should probably make progress creating it and worry about it later.

@gamemakingtools Wow, thanks for the reply. Sorry I didn't reply sooner.

If anybody is still interested in that multi-part blog post series about different game making solutions, the intro with all the links is here:

I was a little optimistic at the start but by the end I found it really educational. I'm not saying it's the best written or most through series of posts, just that it's there.

Anyone had anything to do with One Hour Game Jam?

Themed, goes every Satdee.

There's a website, and I'd like to be notified when a certain part of it changes. Anyone recommend any software/service for that? I wanna select an “element” (HTML element?) on a page and get “notified” (email?) when it changes.

Searching the web brings up many such companies that do this, obv. they charge, and are aimed at “monitor your business competitors”. Which is a fine & legit business model. Any suggestions from yous, my internet peeps?

I think I'm at a do or die point wrt Y axis vs Z axis being up. It may sound like a non-decision to graphics programmers but as an overwhelming majority of my career as a level designer and programmer working mostly with id-lineage and Unreal engines, it's def a bit hard for me to even think in Y-up and I'm also thinking about who might use this thing down the road. I was hoping it'd be as simple as "use a different identity matrix in the vertex shader" but more and more hacks are creeping in...

ANyone have a suggestion for a send-away option for film developing and scanning in the US? or a NYC-area suggestion?
I have a combo of color and black and white rolls, a large amount, and don't want to hand develop.
Looking just for developing and scanning.

#Gitea is joining the fediverse 🎉 We can now announce we've been accepted into the #NLnet funding round that we applied to.

Thank you to @NGIZero @dachary @forgefriends and so many others for getting us to this point.

We are very much looking forward to many wonderful things that federation within forges can support.

New blog post! I’ve been working on ScummVM’s new Director engine lately, and ended up falling down a rabbit hole of weird parser stuff getting a 90s indie Mac game running.

Yep, the RPG Maker 2 exquisite corpse thing is still open!

So if posting round a PS2 game and memory card, and making things in RPG Maker sounds fun to you, take a look.

Block rec:

Haven't posted to in a while, but got followed by someone from, and their pinned post says:

> just set up my misskey instance and I'm trying to populate my global feed with some posts from kiwifarms and other instances I like

So yeah, you probably want to block their instance if you haven't.

website tech/feature question, boosts appreciated!

I am looking for a safe but dead simple way to just have a text box where plain text entered by visitors can be saved and looked at by me (functionally, like a private suggestion box, not comments or a guestbook). I'm using Neocities, though. Is there a good 3rd party service that does this?

Hi! Game Making Social is a part of the Fediverse dedicated to being a well-moderated, cosy, friendly place to talk and share stuff about amateur videogame making, and everything surrounding that.
