Seems like a weird oversight we don't have more emoji for game-making tools.. so here's a hypercard one: :hypercard:

Just came across DIY Methods 2022

With the conclusion of my coverage of season three of "Computer Chronicles," I've compiled and released all of my posts as a downloadable EPUB, which you can find on my website.

Unfortunate Plaintext Distro Change of Plans:

Short notice, but since my partner who I live with has tested positive for COVID, and since we've mostly been in the same places doing the same things for the past week, I decided it's probably wise to act as if I'm potentially contagious as well for the next few days. Unfortunately this means I don't feel great about the prospect of sitting in a hall full of people on Sunday, and have called off the in-person table at GZF.

HOWEVER! I will be dropping off a selection of our new zines to be available at the communal zine table over both days of the festival tomorrow, AND I have re-enabled the online shop on the website for the month of July. Hopefully this will help get most of the latest print order out there, since this stuff is really cool and it's sad for me to think of them languishing in a box in my apartment for months and months before anyone can read them.

this post also includes a ton of other links to beautiful and unique tools. go try them!

does anyone know of any FOSS tools for working with files on playstation game discs? I want to revisit a long lost project I did back in high school where I extracted pre-rendered background images from a JRPG and reconstructed the scenes.

are there any games out there that run at 24fps to look more like film? bonus points if animation is done on 2s or 3s

Request for input from blind programmers

Saw a tweet saying that tabs work better than spaces when you're using a braille display

Seems logical, but this information doesn't seem to be coming from a blind person, so I thought I'd check

Which form of #Python indentation is more accessible to you?

This game jam that I thought might of interest to some merveilles folks.

“Death and the Internet Game Jam is for creating physical games or video games featuring, about or based around dead things on the Internet. This jam came about as an idea to commemorate the end of Internet Explorer which was officially retired on June 15, 2022. As the Internet progresses, the memories we keep on it can disappear at any moment unless we make an effort to preserve them.”

I've been looking for a wiki or other database with good info on lots of videogame interface hardware (controllers, etc.), but I haven't been able to find anything better than Wikipedia. Surely I'm missing something? I feel like I must've read something like this a million times and covidbrain is blocking my memory?? Do I have to make this???

Please boost for reach. So, anyone that is working on FOSS projects like web apps, sites, Linux apps, desktop environments, or other user interfaces, please let me know if you want them tested for accessibility. I can do both CLI, web, and GUI testing, and app testing on Android. I'm running Debian (on a ChromeBook but that's not too important), so just give me the name of the package, or the URL of the site or app. I can also do Flatpak!

Hi! Game Making Social is a part of the Fediverse dedicated to being a well-moderated, cosy, friendly place to talk and share stuff about amateur videogame making, and everything surrounding that.
