Been trying to turn my computer into less of a hoarding machine, part of that is going through my all the shit I've bookmarked to add to the wiki and actually add it.

Lots of it I'd completely forgotten about. The best of those so far is DIN. It's a software-based musical instrument which looks really great. Like a not text-based Orca, kinda.

Very worth going through Youtube videos to get an idea of all the different ways to play with it.

instance meta, blocks

Despite doing a bad job of posting about instance blocks, I wanted to make sure people know we've blocked embracing.space for their gross defence of paedo shit.

Also to catch-up a wee bit here are the last ten places blocked:

- fbxl.net
- verified.af
- embracing.space
- shitnexus.prty
- swampfoxden.com
- salastil.com
- linuxbox.ninja
- neko.airforce
- 101010.pl
- libretooth.gr

Some are the typical garbage Pleroma instances, some are conspiracy types, some are both!

#books - Gregory Sholette -- Dark Matter: I really loved this book simply because it makes an attempt to really theorize why we only see the infinitesimal portion of valuable and successful work as "the art world," and how to talk about the role of the majority/the dark matter/the rest of it. The author also spends a lot of time thinking about how this mass could organize and demand changes from the mainstream art world, which interests me, though he doesn't get into the nitty gritty of that as deep as I was hoping because there are few practical historical examples. Still, really thought provoking and looks at some fascinating artistic phenomena.

So I managed to get myself an #Amiga 600 and added all the different boards and whatnot I wanted to have on this config (more on that later), but for future ref, here is how I was using emulation with #MIDI support on a #raspberrypi until now:

I've released a new tool called plus-x, which allows developers on Windows to set executable permissions for their game binaries in order to make them easier to run on Linux or Mac OS. It's small, easy to use, and has a rad logo cheeseness.itch.io/plus-x #gamedev #indiedev #linux

Take a look at these materials.

They're made with Material Maker. An up-and-coming FOSS Substance replacement. Tell your 3D artist friends, before they sign their souls off to Adobe...

I've disabled editing without an account on the wiki, been getting a bunch of spam. Surprised it stayed clean this long tbh.

I just added Kryštof Klestil's Blind Faith (which is being made entirely with F/OSS tools) onto my list of games developed on #Linux! If you know of anything that's not here but should be, let me know!

It has lots of 3-D models and things included, looks like lots of fun.

gamemaking.social

Hi! Game Making Social is a part of the Fediverse dedicated to being a well-moderated, cosy, friendly place to talk and share stuff about amateur videogame making, and everything surrounding that.

It's kinda an offshoot of Game Making Tools, which is a wiki(+) for a similar audience.

Game makers, game writers, game curators, etc. etc. most welcome!

I also try to maintain a list of not-jerk game-making communities on the wiki, which you might find interesting.

Please read the rules before signing-up :)

PS: We have Animal Crossing, LSD, and Klik & Play emoji :3
