Friend was showing me ZGameEditor, and it seems cool. Games are real small, and the editor seems well organised.
Running in Wine seemed a bit busted by default, but source is available so gunna try building it myself.
Also it's made with Free Pascal, which gets a tick from me too! Though not Lazarus, so some conversion is required.
Started working on a page for it:
Krita.org needs #krita artists to interview! Teens, kids, and people making animations especially invited.
Was checking-in on the Sword of Moonlight forums and saw that one of the people there has been making a new 3-D modelling program compatible with e SOM's unique format.
As a bonus for everyone on my favorite social media website, here are the patterns I made for this. Use them wisely!
"I also got a bad taste in my mouth from Twitter supporting kinds of speech that I don't particularly agree with, and I began to feel like putting my toys and art there was just adding value to the network. For a while I felt that the tradeoff was that the art I published there still enriched my life and the lives of my friends. At some point, though, I started to feel like the balance got out of whack, and I could do more good by putting my work on alternate networks and giving people a reason to get off Twitter. "
All cultural producers with some degree of audience and influence should really think about this: what structures do I validate by my presence? What and whose structures do I reinforce? What other places can I advantage?
i wrote about all the beautiful zines from the first ever Electric Zine Jam
and also link to the recorded streams, incase you missed it and wanted to watch zines being made...
thank you everyone that participated and submitted such beautiful work!
Please consider writing your hashtags in upper camelcase so screen readers have a chance at figuring them out.
#whyistayonmastodon sounds like an giant undecipherable mess of sounds.
#WhyIStayOnMastodon reads out "Why I Stay On Mastodon" 😄
(Reason #44 I stay here: my previous requests like this have been generally well-received, proving that most people are awesome.)
This is cool. Converts plaintext doodles into SVG
Anyone have experience with animation nodes for #blender? Thinking about trying to learn it since I want to do more procedural animation but am always lazy with python. But it's hard to know how much to get invested in an add-on when the software is updating so rapidly.
We have a question for our userbase! Since we provided a Wiki page on installing the PhotoGIMP plugin, several people have suggested #glimpse should use those keyboard shortcuts by default.
Which would you prefer to use? (We're running polls on Twitter & Mastodon)
Just released the 3.1 version of Apocalypse Meow, "The Slightly Better Edition"
This version defaults to mouse lock when playing, supports full screen, and fixes a bunch of performance bugs.
F10 toggle full screen on and off
Enter drops you into editor mode (press v to save the map)
This's a fun music tool you can use in your browser, or outside it:
This's a nice video of some people chatting about Twine, Bitsy, Construct and GameMaker
I have a low tolerance for, and mistrust of, 'professional' sounding voices, so--
Game Making Tools is a few things, but mostly a wiki for amateur game/vidcon makerers.
1/2 admin accounts, handles most of the adminy announcement stuff :)
Hi! Game Making Social is a part of the Fediverse dedicated to being a well-moderated, cosy, friendly place to talk and share stuff about amateur videogame making, and everything surrounding that.
It's kinda an offshoot of Game Making Tools, which is a wiki(+) for a similar audience.
Game makers, game writers, game curators, etc. etc. most welcome!
I also try to maintain a list of not-jerk game-making communities on the wiki, which you might find interesting.
Please read the rules before signing-up :)
PS: We have Animal Crossing, LSD, and Klik & Play emoji :3
