i was really upset after playing receiver 2 last night, i had trouble sleeping. this might be presumptuous but i dont really think someone who had experienced mental illness would treat the topic this way.

this is a big problem for games as a medium honestly, which is that when you engage very sensitive topics you risk treating someones suffering like a cool game mechanic. it requires a lot of gravity and a delicate touch that i think many game designers are just not capable of

A self soothing technique 

Sometimes I struggle so much with kindness towards myself that I almost have to step outside of me and role play that I am my own best friend. What would I say to her if she came to me with my own feelings? What would I do for her? How would I comfort her? Inspire her? Make space for her?

What are the ways that I can show kindness for everyone else in my life?

Pick the most appealing and doable one and then do that.

request for software testing re: PICO-8 rain gif cart 

We had a thought I just tested, and on my Windows 7 (I know x__x) laptop, when I ran a binary exported by PICO-8 of our Rain Gif cart, the "save gif" option worked correctly.

Would anyone with other versions of Windows, on Linux, or on Mac be willing to test this out on their machines?

MNT is restarting development of Spacedeck, a web-based realtime visual collaboration tool originally started by Martin Guether and me in 2011: spacedeck.com (now open-source software). The new version is now in early beta. You can ask me for the invite code if interested in beta testing the hosted version.

For those who want to join in on the , the minimal setup needed to get started with love2d and fennel has been updated!

It now includes the latest version of fennel, and set to work with the latest version of love2d (11.3) by default.

Big thanks to @technomancy for helping to solve the pesky issue where a second version of the fennel library would have to be included in the root directory!
