The hardest part of making a game is finding a good title IMHO.
I think about a name for the Dark Fantasy Roguelike I make for days now and can't come up with something good that isn't too generic.
The game is about going into a crypt to fight an evil necromancer.
Any good ideas are very welcome.

I think I've gotten a handle on the screen palette and draw palette of #Pico8 - and to celebrate, I made a little demo program showing how they work.
The left column is the screen palette, the center column is the draw palette, and on the right is a sprite drawn using these two palettes.
A while back someone posted a thread about how it super isn't cool that non-Jewish creatives constantly use The Golem, protector of the Jewish people, as a fantasy monster or robot stand-in. Since then I've been thinking about other ancient robot stories which people could use as inspiration for their stories, games, etc.
In this thread I'm going to give a brief overview of a handful of ancient robots. These stories all have different interpretations and retellings, but these are my takes.
Just occurred to me today that you younger folks who have the benefit of awesome tools like #blender might not even know that POV-RAY exists.
Pretty amazing what people are doing with this stately old piece of code these days. Check out the hall of fame, I think you'll find an image or two to be impressed by!
Many years ago, when computers were crawling, embryonic half formed things compared to what we use today, this thing was AMAZING and let anyone ray trace. It was *empowering*.
Here's a flow chart of how the fediverse works.
You don't ever see all of the fediverse from one instance. The vast majority of what you see is people followed by people on your instance.
Hashtag searches are limited to that, too.
So if you want to make your bit of the fediverse good, you have to:
1) Boost cool stuff to all your followers on other instances, especially if they contain hashtags;
2) Use hashtags.
over the past few years I have made a whole bunch of tutorials for creative coding with p5.js and put them here: https://creative-coding.decontextualize.com/ I made them primarily as notes for me to follow along with when I'm teaching, so they're sketchy in some parts (and very out of date in others). but some (non-student) folks have told me recently that they found the tutorials useful, so I'm sharing here in case they might interest the fediverse!

@MoMartin from an artistic perspective, there's always a push to universalize the works but that in this day after colonialism and chattel slavery will always be Anglo Saxon heternormative and puritan values so.... No lol
Game Making Tools is a few things, but mostly a wiki for amateur game/vidcon makerers.
1/2 admin accounts, handles most of the adminy announcement stuff :)
Hi! Game Making Social is a part of the Fediverse dedicated to being a well-moderated, cosy, friendly place to talk and share stuff about amateur videogame making, and everything surrounding that.
It's kinda an offshoot of Game Making Tools, which is a wiki(+) for a similar audience.
Game makers, game writers, game curators, etc. etc. most welcome!
I also try to maintain a list of not-jerk game-making communities on the wiki, which you might find interesting.
