RPS have increased their freelancer rate and are asking for submissions so please, fellow writers, bloggers, and "but I'm not good enough"s: LET US ENQUEER THEM
Dear Ruby devs and game devs. I have a crazy announcement I want to share. Please boost.
Last week I released A Dark Room to the Nintendo Switch. Within the game, I also shipped a Ruby interpreter and a code editor as an Easter Egg.
*This Easter Egg effectively turns every consumer spec-ed Nintendo Switch into a Ruby Machine.*
1. Download A Dark Room from the US/EU.
2. Connect a USB keyboard and press the “~” key.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions.
@body I misinterpreted "chess tarot" as "tarot chess", which would also be good
And the #Bitsy Mystery Dungeon 2 jam still has a couple of weeks left too.
I don't have a link to any page, but you can find out about it in the Bitsy discord group:
(The invite link is from the Bitsy Pieces Twitter account... mb I should do a Fedi version of that ... )
'Fragment Jam is a game jam focused on admiring and sharing unfinished games (fragments). Maybe you want to revisit these projects someday, maybe you want closure and to move on, perhaps you want to make a fragment for the jam. Fragment Jam is here to help sort it out and to provide a platform for celebrating and sharing our fragments. '
The makers of the Chromatone keyboard are offering their product for free (plus international shipping) for a limited time https://chromatone.jp/online-shop/en.html
oh i meant to re-link folks to the generator, in case anyone wants to play with it! all patterns are all 8 way symmetrical, 32 x 32. the options at the bottom switch between a few different drawing routines.
TIL there are browser plugins to simulate what colorblind people see in a webpage and hopefully make your websites more accessible
Game Making Tools is a few things, but mostly a wiki for amateur game/vidcon makerers.
1/2 admin accounts, handles most of the adminy announcement stuff :)
Hi! Game Making Social is a part of the Fediverse dedicated to being a well-moderated, cosy, friendly place to talk and share stuff about amateur videogame making, and everything surrounding that.
It's kinda an offshoot of Game Making Tools, which is a wiki(+) for a similar audience.
Game makers, game writers, game curators, etc. etc. most welcome!
I also try to maintain a list of not-jerk game-making communities on the wiki, which you might find interesting.
Please read the rules before signing-up :)
PS: We have Animal Crossing, LSD, and Klik & Play emoji :3
