My name is JJ and I am an RPG maker and VN maker based dev and resource maker.
I currently make custom resources for games and RPG maker tilesets and sprites to sell. I am trying to figure out more about RPG maker so i can make the games I dream of.
I like making games in a unique style (like the one in my avatar) and I hope that making my own resources will allow me and other people to put a unique look in their games.
slightly wider release of my ansi art drawing program. Currently in dev :)

I just stumbled upon the wonderful world of esoteric programming languages and I’m really digging Piet, where the programs look like abstract paintings.
@blueberrysoft yes! Or even more recent and explicitly didactic stuff like Harun Farocki and Hito Steyerl. But I feel like more than most media videogames related stuff is especially against taking advice from the history of art...
gettin' real sick of sending reports to mastodon.social, probably gunna silence it, at least temporarily
the amount of shitposting on our federated feed is making it unbearable, so might be curating it a bit more strongly. i don't block things unless they break the rules though, just silemce, so you can still follow if you want
you can always check which instances are blocked and silenced on gamemaking.social/about/more
also don't hesitate to report people, i will always respond.

@kleptomaniac0 If you need a place to start learning base code you can download sololearn. It's an app where you can learn lots of languages and it's where I learned to code when I first started. It's not specifically for games but after you learn coding switching to game coding is easy peasy!
speaking as infrastructure as resistance libraries' continued existence is a MAJOR act of resistance against the Capitalist World At Large's need to profit and drove me into a degree as a librarian. supporting public libraries brings resources to the community-at-large instead of those who can afford them alone and i just have a LOT of feelings about libraries??
hello it’s time for me to make an #introductions post! i’m an artist with an interest in gamemaking. i’m in college rn and uhhh... i’m rather stressed from that and work so i’m not the most productive when it comes to creative expression. but hopefully i can get into it sooner than later :D i’ve recently started learning how to 3D model so i would appreciate any tips and tricks with that! hope y’all have a nice day~

I've figured out the cheapest way to build a PreenFM2 and it's wild:
* Buy a third-party-manufactured main-PCB and PreenF405-board from this one miscellaneous synth nerd's store
* Source parts from Mouser based on the cart used by the synth's designer
* A square of aluminium foil from the kitchen to act as the screen's noise-shield
* Laser-cut case from Ponoko
~160 USD, compared to the ~240 USD of an official DIY kit, or the ~365 USD of an official fully-assembled unit
So many new people!
Don't be afraid to say hi, or ask any questions you have
If you make an introductory post (and you should!) stick an #introductions tag on it so people outside this instance can find ya
