I know there are a gazillion examples of beautiful, overwhelming colour in frescoes and mosaics all over the world, but the closest thing to this I've seen in-person is the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia in Ravenna.
The blue in the beams really reminds me of that place.
Wikipedia has shit washed-out pics of that, but here's one of the part I remember best, the decoration on the underside of an arch.
I binged a bunch of shitty docos on Youtube the other week and the interior of the this church (Debre Berhan Salassie / ደብረ ብርሃን ሥላሴ) in Ethiopia keeps coming back to me, so here are some pics.
Best source for pics is probably Wikimedia Commons (though WP doesn't even have a page on it)

Documentary guy came here looking for the arc of the covenant iirc (yeah, that's the class of trash docos I was doing...)
Gunna start sharing bits of music, because I haven't been touching any game tools.
Working on a library of samples, was trying to get some specific J-pop Yamaha sounds and making something nice, but getting this PlayStaion atmosphere instead.
(also I wrote this little LMMS guide for making stuff without having to know how oscillators and shit work)
I found my friend the bug.
It's a saunders case moth (look up pictures, they're pretty wild)
the case it's lugging round it about as long as my hand. The bug it about as wide at my fingers.
Found it all cacooned on the ground one day and thought 'oh wow a bagworm from animal crossing' and put it in the garden. Glad to see it's doing well (and it seems to travel pretty far)
